John Village Automotive Limited was established in 1980 as a garage and race preparation business. The race preparation was initially on cars driven by John Village.
The business has been built up in Formula 3000, Formula Renault, Formula Vauxhall, Formula Three, Formula Ford, Hill climb and Saloon car racing, with success in every sphere and resulting in preparing cars for A1 Grand Prix Canada.
For many seasons Team JVA specialised in running Formula Ford cars at national and international level becoming the top private team on the circuit, winning the prestigious Formula Ford World Cup with Vincenzo Sospiri and the Spanish Formula Ford Championship with Victor Lopez.
Throughout the 90’s Team JVA contested with success the Formula Vauxhall and Vauxhall Junior Championships. Kelvin Burt winning an impressive seven races to secure the 1991 Formula Vauxhall Lotus Championship. This was followed up with a second in the 1992 Championship for Oliver Gavin. Tim Mullen won the Formula Vauxhall Junior Championship in 1996 against the strongest opposition.
The team progressed to Formula 3000 in 1999 running a 2 car team in the Italian Formula 3000 Championship finishing the season in 2nd place with Werner Lupberger. The team has continued in Formula 3000 with success and race wins in every season. The team will be entering their eighth season in 2006.
The success gained in Formula 3000 lead to Team JVA being selected to run the A1 Grand Prix Team for Canada. Success has again followed with a podium finish in the second race.
The staff has grown with the team and are a most dedicated, experienced unit with specialties in all the required disciplines, a truly comprehensive unit.
